August OSRC Swim Clinic Registration is OPEN!

Hi Swim Families,

Before we talk about the August Swim Clinic, we would like to let everyone know that the kids worked really hard at practice the past couple of days to get in those laps during the Swim-a-Thon in support of Diversity in Aquatics (DIA) (www.diversityinaquatics.org)!  As of today, we are halfway to our goal of raising $2,020! Donations will be accepted through Sunday, July 26th. To help support the Otters in this wonderful cause, please CLICK HERE

AUGUST SWIM CLINICS

We are excited to announce that we will be offering an August swim clinic! The clinic will run from 8/3-9/4 and will be open to swimmers as young as 4 years old (must be able to separate from the parent and be comfortable fully submerging their face and body in the water). Space is limited, so you will need to act fast! The clinic will run Monday through Friday (swimmers will swim all 5 days) and the cost will be $75 per swimmer. We will continue to follow the same format as our June/July clinics.
Sadly, Coach Drew will be heading back to William & Mary, and he will be dearly missed! We wish him the best of luck in school this upcoming year! However, we are thrilled to introduce former lifetime Otter, Laura Branton, as the August Clinics Head Coach! Please read her impressive bio below! She will make an amazing addition to our wonderful coaching staff. She plans to stop by a couple of practices before Drew leaves so if you see her, please be sure to say hello and introduce yourself!
Hi, my name is Laura Branton and I am a Master Swim Instructor for the Fairfax County Park Authority (2013-present). I currently instruct a wide range of swimmers (frm 3-60 yrs of age) at multiple levels of expertise including beginner, advanced and competitive. I am also a Red Cross Certified Water Safety Instructor. I graduated Georgia Tech in 2019 with a BS in Operations & Supply Chain. I swam for the Oakton Otters from the age of 6 through 18. Along the way, I earned 5 NVSL 1st place Allstar victories plus set a few Oakton Otter Team records. While at Oakton High, I helped lead the lady cougars to 3 consecutive State Championships and was the Virginia AAA State Freestyle Champion in 2013. At Georgia Tech, I set 5 All-Time school records including 100-Fly, 200 Fly and 3 relays. I'm excited to be back at OSRC this summer and look forward to working with many of you at the pool. I am also available for private lessons through my cell phone (703-216-2091). Go Otters!!
