We couldn’t be happier that our Otters are back in the water! Practices are underway and the swimmers are starting to form lasting friendships. As we splash into what we know will be a fantastic season, please take a minute to review the following important information for this week. We realize it is lengthy and appreciate your time and attention. Prizes may be available to those that read the newsletter in its entirety!

Did you know SwimTopia has an app for your phone? The SwimTopia mobile app is available in the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store. You can declare and RSVP to events at your fingertips! When downloading the app, make sure to allow notifications - this way you will receive alerts for inclement weather, canceled practices, and meet delays!

TIME TRIALS: Saturday, June 11 at OSRC @ 9 am
More information to come regarding meet details, expectations, swimmer & volunteer arrival times later this week. Most importantly, this event is a must swim - all swimmers will swim every stroke they are able. Come hungry! We will have Anita’s breakfast burritos for sale.
Questions about time trials? Please text Devon Brinn 571-286-6423 or email B meet reps (Devon Brinn & Becky Raucci): HERE to declare your child as "attending" time trials. If you have a compelling reason why your child can not attend, please mark them as "not attending."
The forecast doesn’t look great for Saturday’s Time Trials. We will swim in the rain and cooler temperatures. If there are any cancellations, you will be notified via email by 8:00 AM on Saturday.

B MEETS

PRACTICE INFORMATION
Beginning Monday, June 13 swimmers will start morning practices. Please visit SwimTopia to see the full SCHEDULE. If you can’t make a morning practice or would like an extra workout, we offer practices on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons.
- 12 & under swimmers @5-6:00 PM
- 13+ swimmers @6-7:00 PM
Parents are not permitted on deck during morning practices during the season. Parents are welcome to watch practices from the grassy areas surrounding the OSRC. Practices are on a tight schedule and our coaches focus and attention must be on swimmer safety. For the safety of all swimmers, please do not talk to the coaches during practices. Please email us, or our head coach if you have questions or concerns.
For our younger swimmers who may need help, we encourage you to help them put on caps and goggles before sending them on deck. Coaches will also be available to assist as needed.
MEETS & EVENTS
Our calendar for the season is full of fun events. We require swimmers to RSVP for all meets and events. Please log into SWIMTOPIA MEETS & EVENTS and let us know if your child will be joining the fun.
We ask that you RSVP to ALL Saturday A meets (regardless of whether or not you think your child will be selected) no later than Friday, June 10th. You can always go back and change your availability if your plans change. Remember - lack of declaration for A-meets will be an assumed “unavailable.”

COVID GUIDELINES
Please click HERE to review what to do in the event your swimmer tests positive for COVID or is in close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID. We thank you for your continued efforts to keep our Otter team healthy and in the water.
UNDERCOVER OTTERS
Undercover Otters is back! Think “Secret Santa” with your swim team friends. Participating swimmers will be assigned an Otter teammate to leave small treats and clues all week long. Undercover Otters will be held June 20-24. If you’d like to participate please complete this UNDERCOVER OTTER form by Tuesday 6/14. More info can be found HERE.

OTTERS GIVING BACK
We are continuing our annual tradition of Otters Giving Back. This year we will be accepting non-perishable donations for Food for Others from June 13-June 20th. Details coming soon, but the age group that donates the most food gets a fun practice!
The most requested items: oil, cereal, canned tomato products, canned meats, canned fruit, dried or canned beans, pasta, 100% fruit juice.
TEAM TANK TOP
New this year - the coaches have created a team tank top! Click HERE to take a look, get further information regarding price/sizing, and to place an order. One order form per swimmer please. These will be great to use for our team TIE-DYE event! All orders are due by Sunday, 6/12 at 11:59 PM. The cost of the tank top is $15 each. Unfortunately, due to supply chain issues, there are only adult sizes available.

SENIOR NIGHT - Saturday June 18th
Calling all 13&over Otters! Senior Night will be Saturday June 18th and is a great way to get to know your fellow Otters. New this year - water polo and gator ball! RSVP by clicking here. Cost $10.
PAYMENTS
Throughout the season, you may have to prepay for events. You can pay three ways: cash, checks (payable to OSRC) or Venmo (@oaktonotters).
In the entrance of the pool, there is a small filing cabinet. Each family has their own folder. You will be able to put your payments in the appropriate family folder. There is also a TREASURER folder there for reimbursement expenses you may have.
