Hello! The 2023 NVSL summer swim season is just around the corner and your team reps have been hard at work getting ready! It’s going to be a fun and action packed summer.

We are sending this email to 2022 Otters, as well as to new OSRC families that have expressed interest in the swim team. Please reply to this email if you would like to be removed from this list or if you know your swimmers will not be returning for the 2023 season.

We can’t wait to see our returning Otters and welcome our newest Otter families this season. Head coach Laura Branton will be returning this season to lead the Otters, alongside a great team of coaches.

We attended the annual NVSL seeding meeting and learned that the Otters will once again be competing in Division 4 this summer against teams from Vienna Woods, Lee Graham, Hiddenbrook, Little Hunting Park and Mantua. OTTER 2023 TEAM INFORMATION

PRACTICE & REGISTRATION INFO

This season, SwimTopia will have the most up-to-date information and will be used for registration and to manage the team this summer.

Practices will begin on Wednesday, May 31. More information about practice times can be found here. Please note that due to sparse attendance in the past and frequent schedule conflicts, there will be no afternoon practices this season.

Mark your calendars: 

• registration for the swim team will open on Monday, April 10 through Wednesday, May 31.
• volunteer sign-ups will open on Thursday, June 1 at 8:00 PM.

TEAM SUIT TRY-ON EVENT

We are excited to introduce our new team suit for the 2023 & 2024 seasons - the Nike Solar Rise in Blue/Green. As the suit is brand new this year, we strongly recommend attending our Suit Try-On Event at OSRC on Sunday April 23, where you will be able to try on & purchase the team suit. This suit will fit differently than previous team suits, so PLEASE make sure to try on before purchasing.

Please click HERE to sign up for a timeslot. Payment by check (on the day of the event) is strongly encouraged.

Team Reps will also be available to answer any questions you might have about the 2023 Otter Season! If you are unable to attend, you can also stop by Suit Up, located at University Mall, where you are able to try on and purchase the team suit.

The Otter Store will be up and running soon! You will be able to order new Otter apparel and silicone caps. Keep an eye out for information coming soon.

NEW MEMBERS

All new swimmers to the Otters, as well as all aged 6 & Under swimmers, are required to come to an assessment. Please click HERE to sign up for an assessment on Tuesday May 30th. At this time, our head coach will have a chance to meet your swimmer(s), watch them in the water, and make a decision as to whether or not your child will be able to swim on the team or if they would be better suited for our Otter Pup program.
