The Otters remain undefeated after a win at Little Hunting Park on Saturday! Our swimmers dropped a lot of time despite the steamy weather and we look forward to continuing that momentum this week. Good luck to our Otters at tonight’s meet at OSRC and to all of our relay teams competing at All Star Relays on Wednesday!

It’s hard to believe that this is our last full week of regular practice. There are still a lot of events to swim and fun to be had before we close out the season. Read on for details!

This is the week! If you signed up to participate, please ensure you drop off your gifts/treats when you arrive for practice each day, including a sign for tonight’s B Meet!

LASER TAG (THURSDAY 7/13)

This is always one of the most popular social events of the season! Please RSVP for your age group by NOON on Wednesday and prepay $10 to Lara Kaplan. (The 10&U and 11+ groups will play at different times.) RSVPs will close Wednesday so that we can provide a final headcount to the vendor.

PICTURE DAY AND PANCAKE BREAKFAST (FRIDAY 7/14)

Friday is our annual picture and pancake breakfast day. All swim team members (including Pups) should arrive at OSRC by 7:30 AM to start lining up for a team picture, followed by individual/sibling photos and a pancake breakfast. Swimmers should wear their team suits. There are NO PRACTICES held on Friday, July 14. The photographer will send order information once proofs are available.

Estimated time for pick-up is 9:15 AM, but we will update if this changes. Please RSVP so that our volunteers know how many pancakes to make!

MARIO KART CARDBOARD CARS (FRIDAY 7/14)

Directly after picture day, join the coaches in making cardboard cars for our Mario Kart themed pep rally. More details to be provided in the upcoming days!

COACHES GIFTS

Every season, we ask parents for a donation towards end of season gifts for our coaches. We want to reward our hard-working coaches for a great season. Your donation will be split among our coaches. However, if you’d like, you can designate an amount(s) to which coach/coaches you would prefer by making a note with your donation. Please consider making a donation before next Friday, July 21. We will give these to our coaches at the banquet on 7/22.

There are 3 ways to donate:

1. Cash or check to the Roth family folder (checks payable to Maggie Roth)
2. Venmo: @Maggie-Roth-2 (*please indicate “coaches gift”)
3. Give cash/check directly to Heather, Maggie, or Andrea

COACHES SCRAPBOOK

An Otter tradition of creating a scrapbook for all of our coaches will begin this week.  Ashley Kim will be in the social room Tues-Thurs to oversee this effort.  There will also be a scrapbook paper box in the lobby for people to take papers home and work on. Decorated pages can be returned to the Kim family folder. Supplies will also be out the week of July 17th in the social room around practice times for kids to complete pages then. PEP RALLY (Friday, July 14)

Join us Friday for our last Pep Rally of the season! The theme is Mario Kart and the swimmers will eat pizza for dinner.

SENIOR BREAKFAST (ALL SWIMMERS 13&OLDER)

Because of Picture Day and Pancake Breakfast, there will be no Senior Breakfast this Friday. Instead, directly after picture day join the coaches in making cardboard cars for our Mario Kart themed pep rally. More details to be provided in the upcoming days!

DUAL A MEET @ OSRC (Saturday, July 15)

Saturday marks our 5th and final A Meet of the season, as the Otters look to lock in an undefeated season. Selected swimmers will be notified by noon on Wednesday.

LAST PRACTICE

The last practice of the regular season (for Otters & Otter Pups) will be next Tuesday, July 18. Those swimmers who qualify for Divisionals will continue to have practice through July 21.

END OF SEASON AWARDS BANQUET @ OSRC (Saturday, July 22)

Mark your calendar for the Otters end of season awards ceremony and pool party on July 22 from 5-10PM. Please bring your own chairs and dinner to Waples Mill Elementary @ 5:00pm. The Otters often like to sit on towels up front with their friends. Please RSVP to this event. It is important that we know who will be there, as we plan to expedite the awards ceremony by only recognizing those swimmers who are present.

Following the awards, there will be a pool party at OSRC for all Otter families. There will be light snacks, drinks, and dessert for both children and adults. Again, please RSVP for a fun evening!
