Time Trials

Warm-up: 8:00 AM

Time Trials are held one week prior to the first meet to obtain a baseline time for each swimmer in each stroke. These times are used to help in the selection of swimmers for the first A meet.  Time Trials also provides an opportunity for a trial run of our meet procedures for officials, meet administration, and meet preparation.  Unless otherwise notified, swimmers will swim all FOUR events at this meet.

We strongly encourage ALL swimmers to attend Time Trials.

New Swimmer Assessments

All new swimmers to the Otters, as well as all aged 6 & Under swimmers, are required to come to an assessment. At this time, our head coach will have a chance to meet your swimmer(s) and watch them in the water. Our coaches will determine if they are ready for the swim team, or if they should be a part of the Otter Pups.

  Please note, to be an Otter or Otter Pup, you must be members (full or summer rental) of OSRC.

Individual All Stars @ Springboard

Practice Schedule (Monday 7/26 to Friday 7/30):

  • 8-9am: 10&under practice
  • 9-10:15am: 11&over practice

Warm Ups

There will be no general warm ups this year.  Two ten-minute, stroke-specific warm-up will be held before each stroke.  Warm-up will be broken into two groups: Group 1 (12 & Under), and Group 2 (13 & Over).  As a result, Coach Laura is working on a warm up schedule at OSRC prior to each half. Parent Viewing

The meet is SINGLE EVENT VIEWING ONLY.  There will be no reserving on bleacher seats. Marshals will remove materials covering bleachers to “reserve” seats. Umbrellas are not permitted in the bleachers.  Deck area surrounding the bleachers will be limited. To facilitate the movement of pedestrian traffic on the deck, certain areas will be designated “NO STANDING” and a Marshal will be positioned to maintain pedestrian flow.  Due to the limited seating areas, parents should bring chairs and plan on remaining in the team area while they are at the meet.

Awards Distribution

Swimmers will receive their All-Star patches from their Team Reps at the meet. Out of an abundance of caution to limit close contact and to create open spaces this year, medals and rosette ribbons that are awarded to all swimmers and alternates will be distributed at a date and location after the meet concludes, in the week following All-Stars.

As with Award distribution, there will be no group pictures taken this year. There will be picture backdrop locations (look for the balloons!) across the Springboard pool grounds for swimmers and families to take pictures to commemorate their experience. Look for these stations and bring your big smiles!

End of Season Awards Ceremony and Pool Party

Join us for an end of season Awards Ceremony honoring our Otters followed by a pool party!  The Awards Ceremony will take place on the volleyball court at OSRC and a pool party will follow immediately after.  Please RSVP so that we know how many to expect!

A Meet @ Vienna Aquatic

Swimmers are selected for the A meets based on seed time and the needs of the team. The goal is to maximize the team’s chances of winning the meet by accumulating the most points. Three swimmers will be selected in each of the strokes in each of the age groups for boys and girls. The four strokes are freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly. Announcements of A Meet selections will be made via email by Wednesday or Thursday each week.

This is an away meet - swimmers will meet at OSRC at approx 7:45am and caravan over to the host pool.
